A Scottish Affair: Love, Laughter, and Legacy at Stella Palace Resort
A special kind of magic happens when a wedding isn’t just about two people,
but about an entire family coming together to celebrate love, legacy, and new beginnings.
Last summer, I photographed one such wedding at the Stella Palace Resort in Crete.
A couple from Scotland exchanged vows in front of their two daughters and their parents.
With only 12 guests in attendance, the day was intimate, personal, and filled with moments
that felt like they were plucked straight from a storybook.
From the getting-ready sessions, where laughter and tears flowed freely, to the heartfelt ceremony
the couple’s wedding was a beautiful reminder of what truly matters:
Family, love, and the promise of forever.
The day began in the bridal suite, where the bride and her two daughters were getting ready.
The room was bathed in soft morning light, and the air was filled with the sound of giggles.
The little girls were the show’s stars, eagerly begging to try on their mother’s veil, dress, and shoes.
As I captured the details, the little girl took her mother’s wedding dress and posed with a big smile.
Love filled the room, and everyone shared happiness on this special day.
Meanwhile, the groom was preparing in a nearby villa with his father.
The atmosphere was relaxed but filled with quiet anticipation.
He wore a gray classical Scottish Kilt and tartan suit, perfectly tailored for the warm Cretan weather.
The kilt and tartan suite is a striking symbol of heritage, craftsmanship, and timeless elegance.
It’s a statement of pride, a connection to ancestry, and a celebration of Scottish culture.
The ceremony occurred in a seaside chapel overlooking the Aegean Sea, with strong wings.
The setup was simple yet elegant: olive branches and white roses, a scattering of petals along the aisle.
As the ceremony began, she ambled, her bouquet in one hand and her father’s arm in the other.
The officiant began with words about love and commitment, referencing the island’s rich history.
But the vows truly stole the show and filled the area with deep love and emotion.
