2. Panagia Korfiatissa Plaka, Milos

At the western end of Plaka, on steep rocks, the church of Panagia Korfiatissa was built in 1810.

The site is known as “Khalara”,’ while the area in front of the temple is “Marmara”.

In the temple courtyard, we find marble tombstones from the old city.

You can enjoy a fantastic view of the sea and an amazing sunset.

3. Agios Haralabos Adamantas, Milos

The church is behind the port of Adamanta, at the village’s highest point.

Cretan refugees built it in 1870.

You will admire the mosaic made of apple pebbles in the church courtyard.

These represent an eagle flying towards the east.

Notice the emblem of the community of Adamas at the bottom, between the two dolphins.

4. Panagia Thalassitra Castle Plaka, Milos

Panagia Thalassitra is the patron saint of sailors and the most photographed church on the island.

You will find the church in one of the most beautiful parts of the island as you climb up to the Castle.

In Panagia Thalassitra, you can see 17th-century works from the famous Skordilidis hagiographic workshop.

You can still see, in the infrared, the coat of arms of the Duke of Naxos, Crispi, on the western door of the church.
